Table Shiatsu

During shiatsu session I will gently rock, stretch and apply compression along the meridians.

In Traditional Chinese and Japanese Medicine the human body reflects the living process of nature. The movement of life force is in the whole body as pathways of energy called Meridians. Meridian means “passing through” or “connecting.” There are 12 major meridians in the body. They are organs channels. Each of these pathways has branches which connect directly with a specific organ on an internal level.

How it Works and the Benefits

Our body and mind is created and maintained through the movement of energy in the meridians.   Metaphorically in Traditional Chinese and Japanese medicine they compared theses lines to channels in a river in nature. They are not separate and distinct, but rather, are one continuous and interconnecting web. The Web with no Weaver by Ted J. Kaptchuk O.M.D.
