Are you suffering from digestive issues and want to know how to improve digestion?

Digestion in humans is quite complex. The complexity comes from our emotions, the environment and the foods we eat. Disorders that result from poor digestion are: bloating, gas, constipation, diarrhea, brain fog and fatigue. And also dis-eases such as:

  • Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)
  • Colitis
  • Crohn's Disease
  • Allergies, Asthma
  • Acid reflux.

Digestion is important because without it we cannot receive our nourishment for overall well-being

Did you know stress and emotions affect digestion and liver health, and that an over-burdened liver causes unstable emotions?

Stress - whether emotional, environmental, or from dietary choices - can be very hard on digestion, which is then hard on us.
Our emotions have a profound effect on our digestion and the liver; anger, too much worry and anxiety are three powerful emotions which affect our digestive health. These can cause bloating, gas, constipation, diarrhea, upset tummy and so on.

Did you know the liver has many activities and responsibilities?

It aids in digestion, it stores the blood, it cleanses the blood, it cleanses excess hormones and toxins. If our liver is not operating optimally we can: feel sluggish, heavy, and tired; have joint pain, tight jaw/neck/shoulders;  be irritable angry, moody. Woman can suffer from PMS and Menopause symptoms. Men can suffer from low energy, and low libido.

There are three very important functions of the liver and detoxification

  1. The Blood–Every minute almost two quarts of blood moves through the liver for detoxification.
  2. The Bile–Every day the liver produces approximately one quart of bile. Bile is necessary for the elimination of toxic materials through the intestines, where it is absorbed by fibre and excreted.
Bile is also needed for the excretion of cholesterol and excess calcium. Bile is needed for emulsifying fat and fat soluble vitamins in the intestines.
  3. Phase I and II–This is a process to neutralize unwanted chemical compounds from environmental sources and any other substance which has to go through the liver or kidneys, such as pharmaceuticals, household cleaners, and chemicals on and in our food and water.
